During
walks among the Provence vineyards, you may discover small stone beehive
constructions known as "cabanons" or"bories".
In older times, when the vineyards were too far from home, farmers
and their horses left to work for the full day. These little huts
sheltered them in case of a storm, and occasionally offered space
for their mothers, or spouses and children to come join them to share
a family meal at noontime.

At a time less hurried than now, the family could thus enjoy their
natural environment, and the joys of country living. |
