In
the southern part of the Domain, on the territory of Camaret, our Cotes
du Rhone wines come from vineyards planted at a place called "Piécaud,"
meaning "warm feet" in Provençal. In this red rocky earth,
particularly sunny, the perfumed plants that make up the famous "herbes
de Provence" grow luxuriously: thyme, lavender... and others typical
of the region. It is here that Beatrice gathers the herbs for her famous
paté. There are also live oaks, that hide in their secretive roots
black truffles, extraordinary mushrooms famous for the culinary pleasures
they procure.

vineyards of Piécaud |
The earth here, enriched only by
the indigenous microorganisms, feeds the growing vineyards. It is particularly
suited to grape vines, that send their roots down deep to gather the natural
aromas that we later enjoy in our Cotes du Rhone wines.
The very old vines, the massal selection, the addition of organic compost,
the respect of traditional farming methods including frequent plowing, the
preservation of the natural environment, the organic techniques without
chemical herbicides nor pesticides, all help us to produce Cotes du Rhone
wines that offer a strong structure and personality.
