Very old Grenache
vines, 78 years of age in the year 2000, cultivated with the exclusive
desire to produce quality grapes, severely pruned and naturally farmed
without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, offer to the Dame Vieille
a generosity and depth that Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvedre, and Merlot
grapes complete, creating a delicate harmony of natural aromas.
Traditional techniques are used in making this wine, with natural
yeast and respect for fermentation temperatures. The Dame Vieille
has a young color, with aromas of ripe red fruits tending toward blackcurrent.
Concentrated, well structured and balanced, this wine ages well and
expresses itself fully after 3 to 5 years. |

The Friande wines, with their cherry color and a nose of sharper
red fruit, evolve toward a sweeter taste. The freshness of the Syrah
and the generosity of the Grenache grapes offer the pleasure of the
southern French fullness, without any weightiness. Should be served
at 17°C with grilled meats or, even better, stuffed Provence dishes. |
