Our
Pays de Vaucluse vineyards surround the winery itself, with others near
old Travaillan. The earth is sandy, with very little organic matter, but
the vineyards' perfect location in the heart of the Cotes du Rhone region
permits them to benefit from the localized climate thanks to the Rhone river
valley and a particularly strong sunshine.
The
creation of the highest quality wines is here the combination of new farming
techniques and a respect for soil biology. This method demands the preservation
of old vines, the cultivation of permanent grasses that compliment the content
of organic matter in the soil while encouraging macrobiotic life. This organic
matter enriches the entire feeding chain and offers to the vines the nutrients
necessary for their growth.
The greater the diversity of the
macrobiotic life, the greater the variety of nutrients offered to the vines.
A well-balanced soil will bring with it an equilibrated diet to the vineyard.
The vines will be stronger, and the substances that they will create will
be more complex. |
