Grenache grapes form the core of
our Cotes du Rhone Villages wines, bringing a strong structure with noticeable
tannins that are well wrapped in warmth. The freshness of the Syrah grapes
completes the harmony, with offering their aromas and delicacy.
Welcoming modern cultivation and oenological techniques, the Domaine du
Vieux Chene remains nevertheless faithful to traditional wine-making methods
for its Cotes du Rhone Villages wines. Without any cultivated yeast, the
maceration takes place with crushed fruit, with then careful pumping-up
of the fermenting juice so as to preserve the fruit. The natural fermentation
temperature encourage the extraction of the wine tannins.

The wines of these vineyards is
especially concentrated, with a pretty grenat-violet color, with hints of
warm dark purples. The nose is fine and classy. Elegant and full, the taste
hints of fruit pulp and red berries, just crushed and barely sweetened,
with faint sensual spices slightly chocolate, lasting long and evenly.
This wine is recommended with strong refined dishes, and should be served
at 18°C (can be opened beforehand).
